Copperhead OS has opened their flashing service for their OS on specified devices. They are still in the process of licensing their OS for individual sales and should be forthcoming as an option to purchase, download and install the OS yourself. When this happens, we will be providing our detailed flashing instructions as seen for the Nexus 5X & Nexus 6P.
Copperhead’s flashing service is for the: Google Pixel, Pixel XL, Pixel 2, Pixel 2 XL.
The prices are $350 for Pixel devices and $450 for Pixel 2 devices + shipping.
Do you have a Verizon Pixel? Verizon does not allow you to unlock your bootloader which is a necessary step. Fortunately, days ago this unlock method appeared. This method works, I have used it on a Verizon Pixel with android version 8.1. If you need help, you can always use the comment section below.
You can check if your bootloader can be unlocked with the steps below. If it cant be unlocked, follow the instructions in the unlock method and unlock the bootloader before using the flashing service.
Follow these instructions to unlock your bootloader. But first:
Unlock your Bootloader, verify it can be unlocked:
On your device, go to Settings, About Phone, scroll down and keep clicking Build Number until is says “You are a developer!“. Go back, click Developer Options, Turn on OEM Unlocking:
If you can turn on OEM unlocking and its not grayed out permanently, your device is compatible. Congratulations, you can install the Copperhead OS without having to apply this method.
If you cannot turn on OEM unlocking follow these steps to unlock it. This only means you have a vendor specific phone but it can now be unlocked by this method.
